Broken Skeptics
So… hmm. Yeah. I really don’t have much to say today. I have a headache and I’m a bit tired from working all week, moving, unpacking, cleaning, running errands, etc… so… uhm… Â yes.
I wore this with a grandma sweater.
No, really. It’s a sweater that belonged to my grandma. And it is the most comfortable sweater I have ever worn, and I love it even if it IS white and I’m prone to spilling things.
So this is the back deck of our new house. Well, the house we’re living in. It’s not technically ours. We’re renting. That’s not what my point was going to be. *ahem* I felt extremely awkward taking pictures today because we live in a neighborhood, which means that there are, you know, neighbors. Who, I presume, can see out of the windows and may have wondered what I was doing standing there looking down at my feet. And into their windows.
Speaking of the house, by the way, our plumbing has been sort of fixed, so we can use it again. No more septic waste draining into the garage and driveway.
Every time I go to type “septic” I end up typing “skeptic”. So, you know. I type “our skeptic broke, but it’s working now,”
and then I giggle.
Because the thought of a broken skeptic is funny. (Is that just me? Oh. Okay. Shut up. I’ve been up too long.)
I’m going to go eat junk food and waste my time watching something frivolous. Or writing something frivolous (*coughvampirescough*). And possibly drink tea.

Nice yard! Although, yeah, I can see your neighbours’ house. 😉
In French “septic” and “skeptic” are pronounced exactly the same. People mix spellings “all the time*. 😀

I know, I’m a little dismayed at how close all the neighbors are. I almost took outfit pictures at a cemetery today, but then felt inappropriate as there were people there. SO… that idea went to waste. Maybe some other day.
Interesting. I didn’t know that!

Ooo love the skirt. Neighbours can be a pain, but they can turn out to be helpful too. I’m wondering though, does a broken skeptic mean that they become less of a skeptic and more of a…optimist?
Mara
Hmmm… I have no idea. 😀 Haha! It just sounds funny to me.
We have yet to meet our neighbors, but they’re probably all nice. It’s a very… close? neighborhood– they all called the owner when we started showing up because they didn’t know who we were and wanted to make sure he knew that people were wandering around his house. 🙂

I love how green everything is! And that great ring.

The yard really is beautiful. There are fish ponds (without fish…), too. I want to try to do outfit pictures by them. Without falling in…

That yard is beautiful! So much green!
I love that skirt, and those thighs are really pretty, and I love those shoes! Oh, and that owl ring is awesome!
Hey! There is nothing wrong with vampire stories. When they are well written. And when their writer actually tries to be original. (Ok, I’ll admit – those two conditions narrow down the list of good vampire books to about two)
Mara
I love these shoes, too. 😀
When they are well written and their author can be original, there’s nothing wrong with them. Sadly… most vampire novels aren’t very original OR well written. 😀 So I’m here to try to break that mold. It may or may not happen.
Comy
That is true, unfortunately.
I’m sure that you will. You are a great writer! 🙂

The sun blanked out your face in the owl ring picture. It’s funny.
Mara
Haha, I know! The sun regularly tries to eat my head in outfit pictures.

The colors in your skirt are so pretty. I really like the green top you paired with it. The cardigan looks incredibly comfy too!
Mara
Thank you! The cardigan is SO comfortable. I wish it weren’t white so that I could wear it to work.

I like your backyard! I get really excited (for some reason) whenever people move.. I think it’s because I’ve lived in the same house my whole life so I like to live vicariously through others… 🙂
Mara
Moving can be fun, so long as you don’t have to do it all the time!
Tilly
Ohh your grandmums cardi is just stunning! It looks so soft and cosy. Aha our neighbours are so nosy too! xx
Mara
Thank you! It definitely is. I want to wear it all the time everywhere. 😀

Awww what an awesome yard! I was kind of bummed that the background of your pics wouldn’t be full of these creepily beautiful trees of your old house, but now I see that you have a really pretty yard over there! 🙂 And I need to see these fish ponds (without fish…:P) you’re talking about! 😀
Now as for the outfit, I adore all these colors! The skirt is adorable and…red shoes??? LOVE! Red pointed heels always remind me of old Hollywood movies 😛 Your granny’s sweater is so cute! Apparently, style runs in your blood 😛
By the way, I have a *tooootally* random question: Have you ever travelled to New York? I was just septic..erm…skeptic 😛
