Valentine’s Day Lookbook: Modern
For the month of February, I am going to overload you all with Valentine’s-day inspired posts. Hopefully everything from outfits to makeup ideas to some healthier (but still sweet) desserts to a DIY and a giveaway. However, it might be hard because a) I have no internet at home yet, and b) I kind of don’t have a laptop any more either. Right now, I’m at my mom’s house stealing her lappy and her internets.
Still, I will try! I’m determined to get back into the blogging game no matter what it takes. I miss blogging.
For the first look, merely because it’s the only one I’ve photographed, I’ve got modern, with red pants, a lacy shirt, a fun little collar, and some kicky shoes. As you probably well know, I’m not really a “modern” style person, and this is probably my least favorite look. Personally I would like it better if it had a black blazer, but blazers and me don’t get along so… I don’t have any.
That, and the pants are a bit too tight. *ahem* We’re working on that. (Quite nicely, actually; I’ve been to the gym consistently since I signed up and I LOVE it. Mr. Owl swears I look skinnier already. I think he’s just imagining things, but we’ll see at the end of the week when I do a weigh-in.)
As a concept, though, I really liked the idea of having red pants and a white lace shirt for a nice, sort of relaxed but still romantic-looking Valentine’s day outfit.
I also tried the whole “arm party” thing, which I’m not sure I like for me. This whole outfit was an adventure into territory I don’t usually traverse. It’s fun to divert from the norm sometimes .. although I’ll admit I didn’t wear this anywhere except in my house for the duration of the photoshoot.
Collar and shirt: Thrifted
Pants and heels: Target
Tights: Modcloth
Arm Party: gifts and old tidbits from my grandma’s jewelry box.
What do you all think of the overall idea? What would you do differently?
I think I’ll stick with retro styling. I’m much more excited to put the other three looks together that I’ve come up with– vintage, romantic, and bombshell. I’ve tried all three on, and now I can’t decide which outfit I’ll actually wear when the 14th comes around. You’ll have to help me make a choice.
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!
It’s almost the weekend! Hooray!

I adore this outfit and your shape! You look fantastic! Totally gives me, a girl with curves, a bit of confidence to pull this off!!

I love this look and I totally get the arm party thing. I try to wear bracelets and stuff, but honestly they make so much noise and they get in my way when I’m trying to type and write. If I wear them, I end up just taking them off lol. Ooops?

Love it! Would be great for a daytime V-Day look or a casual nighttime dinner. I can’t wait to see your other looks for the holiday 🙂

I love this outfit for Valentine’s Day! I don’t have bright red pants, but I really want to get a pair just for it :p

The pants/blouse combo is something I’d totally do. The arm party? Not so much. You still look adorable, though. And oh man, we’ve got a lot of Valentine’s posts coming our way! (: Good luck stealing internet to make it happen.

I’m quite anti-Valentine, but if I had to pick a Valentine outfit, this would be it – simple yet still fun. And boy oh boy, those heels are fantastic!

Hey I have those same heels! I got them on clearance and haven’t worn them much because I think they might be a tiny bit too big. Oops.
Anyway, I love the red pants and white top. This is definitely a festive outfit! I really like the collar added to your blouse too.
