Sunday Sweets: Halloween Edition
This year, we all went on our very first Trick-or-Treat adventure with Asa’s cousins; Mr. Owl and I have never gone, and it’s Asa’s first Halloween. So we got dressed up in our costumes (Mr. Owl as Brand from the Goonies, me a generic 80’s girl at his request, Asa a frog) and traipsed around a shopping center asking for candy from store owners. Obviously, Asa is still too little for candy. But that didn’t stop anyone from giving it to him!
It was a lot of fun. At one point, I walked up to a booth with all four of my nephews scurrying around me, and the lady manning the candy bowl remarked “Oh, your children are darling!” It made me laugh; technically I could totally have five kids by now, if I’d started when I was 18 and had one every 1-/1/2 years, approximately, but… yeah. I had to smile and correct her, and agree that my nephews ARE very cute.
And at another point, a woman passing by exclaimed about Asa “Oh, she’s so precious!”
It made me wonder at what point will people stop automatically assuming he’s a girl?
Anyway! We had loads of fun! I hope your Halloween was good, too!

Asa’s costume is adorable! All of your costumes are great! I love that your husband dressed up as Brad. That would be a great couple costume idea…hummmm
And I know it can be frustrating to have people assume your boy is a girl. It happened to my brother a lot too. Unfortunately there will always be those few. I wouldn’t let it bother you. He’s such a cutie! Who cares what others think. Oh and the same thing happens to me when I’m watching my daughters friends. Everyone just assumes their all mine. I too feel a need to politely correct them lol!

He’s so cute and I love his costume/name! The singer of Taking Back Sunday’s newish baby has the same name and I had never heard it before! Love it!

Awwww he looks adorable! What a cute Halloween costume. (And I don’t think he looks like a girl! It’s a manly frog costume!)
