Guest Post: Sara Lily, In a Nutshell

While I’m away on maternity leave, I’ve got a GREAT roster of bloggers who all jumped in to guest post and share with you their own fantastic blogs and styles! Sara Lily is a newer blogger to me, but one whose style I just ADORE. Plus she writes book reviews and recipes on her blog, and oh my goodness if you don’t love someone who’s stylish and loves books and food, there’s just something wrong with you. So read on, and don’t forget to visit her blog and give her some love!

Hi everybody, SaraLily from In a Nutshell… here, filling in for Kristina while she is away on blog maternity leave! I am so anxious for baby girl’s arrival – you’d think I was her doting aunt or something. While Kristina and her family are happily afloat on their soon-to-be new baby cloud, I am here to share my latest LindyBop score with you all!

Little girls are just so fun, aren’t they? I grew up with 2 sisters (my poor dad was so outnumbered in our house!) and we are all close in age. Sure, sometimes it felt like we lived on a battlefield, but for the most part, having sisters so close in age made growing up fun. I always had someone to play with!

I’m the middle child. My older sister is 2 years older than me while my younger sister and I only have 10 months between us! Needless to say, my parents didn’t mess around. It was fun being in an all-girl house. It’s too bad none of us shared the same sense of style – sharing clothes hardly ever happened in my house!

Maybe it’s because I grew up with sisters but I just really hope that one day, I am blessed with a little baby girl like Kristina. Of course, having a bouncing little boy would be just as great (I mean, have you seen Kristina’s little boy and now big brother, Asa? Hello, cutie!), but you just can’t put a little dude in a little dress!

And when there are dresses out there as great as this one from LindyBop, appropriately covered in flowers to celebrate the newest addition to the Eccentric Owl family, how can I possibly fantasize about having a baby boy?

Now, I understand that by saying the above I am jinxing myself. Let’s fast forward a bunch of years – I wonder if I’m doomed to having a gaggle of rambunctious boys. Oh, could you IMAGINE? It’d be a fun house, that’s for sure!

But back to this dress and all things girly – LindyBop has never let me down. I now own at least 5 LindyBop dresses and each one is a dream. Not only does LindyBop have the best prices out of many vintage reproduction style shops out there today, but their clothing is made with such high quality fabrics! You wear it and just know it’s made well and fits well.

I had actually never seen this Edith dress until now and I wonder why! I am a big fan of the Audrey style dress as well as the Ophelia, but when I spotted the Edith dress recently on sale, I was giddy. I love a well-made shirt dress – especially one with sleeves!

Confession time – I’ve got some chubby arms that can be a challenge for dresses with sleeves but this dress has some stretch to it so even the sleeves fit perfectly – hallelujah! Praise the dress gods!

Now, if only it came in miniature sizes! I could have gotten Krisitina’s new baby girl one to match!
