Evangeline Rose: Newborn photos
I have been itching to share Evie’s newborn photos on the blog, but for some reason I never got around to it. And she’s over a month old now!
With Asa, I wasn’t quite as sure of myself with photography, so he doesn’t have an actual set of newborn photos; his life is documented pretty well, but as far as setting up actual sessions with props and all that to capture his newborn-ness… I never did that. So quite soon after we found out Evie was a girl, I started searching on Pinterest for newborn photo inspiration. My favorites were the ones full of flowers (no surprise there), and I wanted to capture the feel as well as I could. I’m quite pleased with these! I did two sessions — the first, with a pink flower crown, at nine days old. The second, with daisies, at 15 days old.
These photos just made me want to take more newborn photos; I’ve done a few sessions with new babies already, and I just adore capturing tiny little features, itty bitty fingers, precious new faces. I can’t decide whether newborns or weddings are my favorite.
And I might be prejudiced, but I think my baby is exceptionally pretty. 😉 Especially with her flower crown and those eyes that are going to be as bright blue as her brother’s.
I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday!

I think you did SUCH a beautiful job at capturing Evie’s features and beauty! I love how feminine these are, knowing me, I’m all about flowers and pink and some sweet baby faces! <3<3

Love these!! I did this with my grandson 10 years ago with real flowers and my son was so mad because I got pollen on him. I guess flowers didn’t really fit with a boy anyway! I’m gnatspan by the way. Haven’t been on Instagram in awhile because my phone needs an upgrade.

So so so beautiful! I love all of the flowers and the composition. And you get to be biased! But you’re right – she’s SO pretty. Takes after her mama. 😉 xx

Congrats Kristina, she is a doll! My own little Madelyn arrived September 12th, and you have inspired me to take some special photos.

Well, you might be biased but, I think you’re right. She is exceptionally beautiful and all those soft colors only emphasize her perfect baby skin even more. Gorgeous!
