Mixing Up the Holidays
Â
I am only just getting around to sharing this outfit because 1. I am a very late person, 2. I made this skirt for Skye but liked it so much I had to wear it before I sent it to her, and 3. I had to wait for her to wear it on her blog. And then, I am just… a procrastinator. Because you guys, I made this for Skye’s birthday which was six months before I finished and mailed it to her. So, yes.
To further cement my procrastination skills, today I am finally starting AND finishing a few Christmas gifts for my family and my husband.
Â
So that’s why, on the eve of Christmas Eve, I am sharing an all-black outfit and a skirt with little dancing skeletons on it. It’s an outfit I photographed over a month ago, featuring a skirt I finished late as ever for a friend who shared it also about a month ago… that I only just realized I needed to share. I would be modeling the Christmas skirt I finished earlier this week, but it is currently raining buckets in true Washington Christmas style, and I hate taking indoor outfit photos.
And after making this skirt — complete with skeleton head buttons, orange rickrack, and white lace to give it even more of a Skye-esque flair — I was so pleased that I finished two more! You already saw my Star Wars skirt — and if you haven’t, go here! — and I am really hoping that it snows tomorrow so I can share my Christmas skirt — the fabric of which you can see here — just in time for Christmas.
Skirt, self-made for Skye | tights, Target | heels and shirt, thrifted | brooch (old) Oasap | little boy, co-created with husband 😉
But I have to get back to my crafts so I can finish everyones’ presents by Christmas! Which is two days away already, how did that happen? Are you a late gift buyer/creator, or do you get presents WAY ahead of time? Do you make them, buy them, both? What are your Christmas traditions?
I hope you all have a fun Christmas!
