Red Riding Hood || Feat Lady V London
Happy spooky week! I am getting started on my spooky posts a bit late this year, but as soon as I saw this gingham Lady V London dress, I knew it had to be the base for a Red Riding Hood costume! I am excited to be collaborating with them this week on a few different looks– all of which I decided to base around some of my favorite fairytales. I can’t wait to share the rest! But for today, we have Red Riding Hood.
I paired the dress with a cape that I made a few years ago for one of my husband’s short films, and let me tell you: it was SO FUN to wander around in the woods with a cape billowing around me! This cape is made from an old sheet, and the sheet was the most delightful lightweight material that catches the wind beautifully. We couldn’t have chosen a better thing to make a cape from — it’s beautiful in movement!

I have been enjoying the fall season so much lately. I mentioned before that my creativity really spikes in the cooler months, and I think that’s especially true this year! I was looking back at my early blog photos and noticed that it’s always been a trend for me: the cold weather brings out the fun outfits and the more creative photography. Even back when I was inexperienced and using a terrible camera, I did fun things in the cold weather. I don’t know if it’s the ability to layer, or the changing of the trees and how beautiful that is, or just going through change itself that does it.
But, the cold weather brings out my most creative work.
And of course, being my bookish self who is especially fond of fairytales, I had so much fun coming up with ideas for the three dresses I get to style for Lady V London! I have another already shot and this weekend I hope to get my third done so that I can put together a lookbook to premier on Halloween! Although I have to admit, I am not prepared for October to be over already! Is it just me, or is this year flying by so fast?
