Poinsettias for Christmas || Feat Dolly and Dotty and The Retro Flamingo
A little while ago, The Retro Flamingo flower crowns contacted me to ask if she could send me crowns for myself and my daughters. She was then kind enough to also include lapel pins for my husband and Asa. It was the perfect little push to get new family photos with Irene, who is now old enough to actually interact with the camera. Our last photos were only this summer, but she was so little it was a bit difficult to get clear pictures of her face! And, since they’re Poinsettia flowers, our family photos are perfectly Christmassy for (my always late) holiday cards!
I was also lucky enough to have received this gorgeous green and tan dress from Dolly and Dotty to review, and I’m so so happy with how the two go together! Dolly and Dotty has the prettiest styles right now, and I’ve been wanting to try out this particular dress for a while now so I was quite excited when they contacted me to potentially work together again. The beautiful waistline on this dress really helps emphasize an hourglass look, and of course the full skirt is the skirt of any retro-loving girl’s dreams! I also really appreciate the stretch and sturdiness of Dolly and Dotty dresses. There’s a good amount of give in this style, and yet it still retains a nice shape and doesn’t show off all the lumps and bumps like some fabrics can. Definitely a win in my book! I cannot believe it’s nearly 2019 already! This coming year I have plans to take a little time “off” from all social media, blogging, and all of that fun stuff. I think it’s healthy to do so every once in a while, so I after this post and my last video up on YouTube, I won’t be back to YouTube or Instagram or the blog or anywhere else until the second week of January. I am hoping it can give me a little refresher on all things social; I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out running this blog and YouTube and Instagram and not quite having a plan for any of it. My plans are to use some time away to map out posting schedules, shooting schedules, and reading schedules (because part of the joy of blogging has always been reading other blogs!) so that when I do come back it feels less harried and more purposeful. My one wish for 2019 is to become a bit more organized, from my own home to my social media life and beyond! So, this will be my very last blog post of 2018, and I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and the most wonderful start to 2019!
