Apple Picking in Autumn
Hello, September!
Here in Washington the leaves are slowly beginning to make their sunset-drenched journey toward fall.
In our backyard, the apples are ready and I am looking forward to an autumn filled with apple pies, apple cider, and all things baking. It is Hobbit Girl Autumn, and I am ready for the rainy weather. Shut-in days allow for slow afternoons with the scent of cinnamon filling the air, and I am ecstatic for the chill and gray that many bemoan at this time of year.
Last year, I made this apron modeled after a Shein apron. It began the journey of making more and more clothes as time has gone on. I have a massive fabric stash, and this autumn I hope to create a decent amount of my wardrobe from what I already own. Making things from what I have instead of constantly chasing the next newest thing is my ggoal. As a content creator whose roots began in fashion blogging, sometimes I get the urge to share new outfits. But it’s time for a change.
As I start up this blog again after YEARS of posting elsewhere and neglecting it, I’d love for this to become a space of inspiration. Inspiration to make do, make over, and in general live a life of slow, intentional ways.
Slow living and slow fashion are at the core of what I love and do, so here’s to kicking off this blog again with those in mind!
I may be slow to post here, as well.
My blog name has changed and my social media presence is so different from what it used to be. Practicing slowing down means learning not to stretch myself too thin,. It’s been so many years since I’ve run a website, but I hope it will become a lovely little addition to my YouTube channel and my Instagram.
For those of you who are here and peeking, hello! I hope you stick around. This blog will be an extension of my YouTube channel, focused on the fashion but I want to introduce other things as well. The things I do on my channel – homemaking, baking, sewing – will hopefully be posted here too in slow form.
And maybe you’ll be getting little previews of my videos, before they’re posted, like today!
For now, I will be trying to post once a week. A far cry from the days when I posted every single day, but slowing down is key.
I’m so glad you’re here.
With Love,
Kristina
