Because I can.
That’s all you need to know.
I’m mostly just making up for the fact that I don’t get to work on or dress up for Β Halloween after all. Not that I celebrate Halloween… I was just looking forward to dressing up for it. Because I like costumes. π
My hair is very crunchy now.

Ohhh.. gorrgeous!! I looove them, and the way you do it makes me question why we all can’t walk around looking like live costumes..

Crunchy hair due to all the hairspray I had to use to force it into staying that way. π It was rather interesting.
I know, I think if I was a little braver, I might just walk around like that all the time. I’d love to be in theater or something so I could just use the excuse that I was in a play. Hehe.

Beautiful and exotic!! Love the hair and how it goes with the look!! Oooh, I love costumes. And fun makeup. π I don’t celebrate Halloween either, so I make little video productions with my best friend so we can put our creative heads together for costume design. Heehee. Also, I once got my three closest friends to dress up in Regency costumes for a birthday picnic at the park. We went to the zoo afterward and got asked if we wanted to be in commercials. π At the time we declined because we were youngish.
I’ve worn cloaks and costumes out and about. People have asked if I’m in a play, choir, etc. And my best friend has a tradition of putting me in lavish costumes and then taking me to Safeway for groceries. π

The hair is my favorite part. My skin was so sticky after this, though. I adore costumes, too! Our church usually does a Harvest Party every year in place of Halloween, but… they’re not doing it this year. So I have nowhere to go to dress up and have fun in costume. I was thinking about transforming my eighties prom dress into a somewhat ball-gown-type thing… because it could almost be that. I might do it anyway. Maybe I’ll get some friends together and have a photoshoot with them in full makeup and costumes. π
That sounds amazing! My highschool graduation party was a costume-and-masks party. It was fun, but then we didn’t really know what to do.
I think that your best friend and you are amazing. I totally want to get all dressed up now and go to Safeway. π

Same! I don’t know why we don’t do ours anymore. I think it’s getting too hard now with half the congregation in college to round everyone up for harvest parties. Saaad. But I do have a friend who’s having her own little costume party on Saturday. Hopefully I’ll get to go and wear my lavender princess dress and say I’m Sleeping Beauty. π If I do, I’ll get pictures.
Photoshoots for the WIN!! π
That Safeway has seen me in many disguises. I was in the Kate Bush impersonator red dress, an accidental beaten housewife look, Barbie Sugar Plum Princess, Titanic freezing-to-death ice makeup, and more recently, the Victorian day dress. No one there ever makes any comments, even when I have to squeeze in my skirts through the check out. They just take everything in stride! π

That sounds fun! I’m jealous. I have to work on Saturday. And yes, take pictures!
That’s pretty great. I wonder if they’re just used to it in certain places. I know that if I walked around with crazy makeup and a costume in Seattle, nobody would think it was weird. Seattle has a lot of… shall we say… diverse people. π Hehe.
