W is for White
Can you believe that the main parts of of this outfit were thrifted? The trench coat is from Goodwill ($8), the dress is from a local thrift shop ($5), and the belt is from Goodwill as well ($2.99) I think all in all, the entire outfit- jewelry and shoes included- cost me a grand total of $48. That’s not even enough to have bought this coat brand-new. And had I waited on the shoes, I could have gotten the last pair— my size— for $7 instead of $20. (the $20 was sale price, but still…)
I love thrift stores.
I had my mom take my pictures today because the camera won’t adjust itself when it’s on self-timer, and it pretty much just makes anything white into a glowy blob.
As you can see, I’m not quite as comfortable in front of the camera when someone else is taking the pictures. I feel like I can’t pose for other people— I have to smile. And I don’t really like smiling for the camera.
But I should get used to it because mom takes better pictures than the self-timer does.

I know exactly what you mean. When it’s a timer and a tripod, you can take fifty pictures of yourself in different poses and don’t have to feel bad if you don’t like one–or half-of them. When someone else takes it, there’s all that… um… weirdness… and then if it doesn’t turn out, how do you tell the person, “That’s not what I had in mind?” ??? YOU CAN’T!!! AAAH! 😛
Point being, I feel your awkwardness. 😉

Eeexactly! But also, generally when people take pictures of me, they’re not very good pictures. Or they do expect me to smile and don’t snap pictures when I want them to snap the pictures.
I’d love someone who just… is a photographer and will take a picture when I’m not really… paying attention… but also only takes pictures when it’s a flattering angle. Hehe.

Blah, I’m bad at posing whether there’s somebody else or not behind the camera… :$ My sister did some professional modeling, and while we look pretty much alike in real life, pose and facial expression make all the difference in the world when it comes to being photogenic.
Anyway, you still look good, and your awkwardness on the second picture is kind of cute. 😀 Lovely outfit, by the way!

Yeah, me too. It takes quite a few pictures to get one that I’m not closing my eyes or making a weird face or just… looking odd in general. Hehe.
