Camping! Part one: the road trip, a rock, and some trees
Yesterday, I burst into tears because we had no bread, and then I tried to laugh at myself because I knew it was a stupid thing to cry about… but that only sufficed to make me cry more. Because nobody likes to be laughed at when they’re crying, even if they’re the ones laughing at themselves. (Can you guess what week of the month it is?)
Suffice it to say… I have no outfit pictures. What I do have, however, is pictures from my family’s camping trip to Kalaloch Campgrounds! It was one of the most fantastic camping trips I’ve ever had– partly because Mr. Owl got to come along, and partly because Kalaloch is just… kind of amazing.
I don’t have a lot of time to do explaining, so I’m going to let the pictures do the talking… for the most part.
(Side note: these are Mario fruit snacks. Due to my excess nerdiness and playing the Wii too much, every time I ate a star, I started singing the Mario Star Power song and running around like Mario. Yes, I know. I’m a dork.)
Below, pictures from a few of the small towns we drove through. I LOVE all the brick buildings and quaint little old houses, and the long stretches of country road.
Very creepy building. It might look pretty in black and white, but it was seriously shudder-worthy in real life.
Once we got to Kalaloch, the first thing we did was go down to the beach. It was glorious!
I wanted this rock. I should have picked it up. But I left it there.
The absolutely AMAZING tree. Best part was, you could climb up onto the roots, which we both did immediately.
I was fascinated by the roots. They were everywhere. It’s amazing how something that looks so small and sinewy like these roots can hold up a ginormous tree.
It is inevitable: if there is a tree, I will try to climb it.
Those are all the pictures I had time to edit and upload before I left for work, so I’ll have to do a second post about the second part of our trip (campfires, bacon-wrapped hotdogs (a product of my brilliance), and Ruby Beach) later this week.
I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!
P.S. Half of these pictures were taken by my man.

I loooove your dorkiness, I am a huge nintendo fan! esp zelda. And I would totally be crying over not having bread too on bad days. Mmmmm bread
Mara
Hehe, thank you! I love Nintendo, too! I’m really sad because my Nintendo is on the fritz right now, which is dumb. No Mario, sigh.
Yeah, it was a sad day. But we have bread now, which is a bonus! 😀

Ah, God, I’m happy I’m not the only one who bursts into tears on THAT week. I always cry, always, even if it’s something ridiculous and then I say I’m stupid and then I cry some more because I’m stupid 😛 Nice things 😛
Anyway, I love so much these pictures! They make me want to go camping! This rock is adorable and yes, I’ll admit it, at first I thought it was a turtle ahhaha! 😛 This tree though is the most amazing tree I’ve ever seen! It looks haunted! And my mind made a whole concept of Avatars living in the roots. Oh my God, nerdiness overload 😛 Can’t wait to see part two! Many many kisses to you, beautiful lady :*

I cry about the weirdest stuff when it’s that week. Sigh. Oh, well. Such is the life of a girl! Hehe. And at least later I can laugh about it.
I love camping. And the rock DOES look like a turtle now that you mention it! I really wish I would have picked it up.
Yes! The tree so reminds me of Avatar. Hehehe.
Awww, you’re so sweet! :*
Deliciously Yours
These photos are so beautiful!
Mara
Thank you!
