Gingham and Dots | Outfit

Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to do something a little different and film a get ready with me video. I was feeling really inspired by Hannah and Kristabel, and just thought… I really miss making videos. I used to do a lot of vlogs and tutorials, but somewhere along the line I quit. I think I just got too busy, and focused more on photography and fashion blogging, and I didn’t know how videos would fit into that.
But after yesterday and filming the OOTD portion of the above video, I think I might start making more videos. Outfit videos are actually pretty fun to film!
It’s been an interesting challenge to blog every day this month. I have only missed one day of outfit photos so far, because the day was just WAY too full to get any photos in, but I’ve been having a lot of fun trying to find new places to photograph outfits around my yard, or going to local parks with the kids (and my mom to watch them) to find locations.
I’m feeling pretty inspired, surprisingly; you might think blogging daily outfits would feel like a chore, but I had forgotten how much I really love doing it. It’s definitely a form of artistic expression for me, and it feels great to be getting that little bit of “me” time in the day.
I thrifted this shirt a few weeks ago because I am really bad at getting tops for myself, and also because I thought it was a really beautiful piece. It’s vintage, and I figured if I don’t wear it enough, I can always put it up on Etsy. I am not really a button-up person, or so I thought. But when I put it on, magic happened. I really, really love the style of the blouse, the lightness of it, the pattern, everything! It’s sheer, which you can’t really tell unless you are a foot away from my shoulder, and it’s a little bit stretchy which makes it perfect for my ever-changing body.

And even though my shoes are red and my belt+lips are orange, I love every bit of this outfit! I think it’s perfect. Now I just need to touch up my hair and get rid of those roots. I actually kind of like how my hair is fading; it’s going very pastel/orange pink. It looks pretty even though it’s fading, and it’s not fading all at once. Basically, it’s giving itself highlights, which is great!
Everything thrifted/vintage, except glasses (old) c/o Firmoo.
So what do you think? Should I keep making videos? Most likely, I’ll just film outfit videos (personally, I think it’s super fun to see outfits in motion!), maybe some retro-mom makeup looks, and thrift hauls for sure. I need to keep track of what I’ve thrifted every week or month, because I wanted to do a thrift haul video but I don’t remember what all my recent purchases were, other than a few jars for dry ingredients.
I hope you’re all having a great week, and happy almost weekend!

Yay for videos! I love seeing bloggers in videos because you get a more complete picture of who they are! You get to see things that obviously never come across in pictures like mannerisms, tone of voice, or cadence of speech. Interestingly, you have the exact same accent as my uncle who moved to Washington years ago and I didn’t realize that was a thing until just now!

I knew WA accents were a thing, but I never thought I had a pronounced one (aka, “warsh-ington” and not pronouncing “g’s” on the end of ing words, stuff like that). I think it is getting worse after marriage, though.
And I agree! I LOVE blogger videos!

I definitely wouldn’t say it’s pronounced. I only noticed because it’s exactly how my uncle speaks and I didn’t even realize he had developed an accent! I kind of just thought it was how he spoke (that’s how subtle it is).
My grandpa actually says “warsh” instead of wash. None of us can figure out where that came from!

I enjoy seeing outfits in motion too! Your little video was super cute! Wish I had a good place to make outfit videos but I’m too scared my camera would get stolen in the city. Maybe someday… I miss making videos, period.
Anyway, hooray for finding that awesome button down shirt. I love my thrifted button downs and this one is just so unique. It looks great with the dotted skirt. Such a fun look!
